For 2009, the Land Rover LR3 receives minor changes, with new exterior colour-matched panels and door handle finishes, and optional Sirius satellite radio and a heated steering wheel.
The LR3 is available with a choice of two engines: a 4.0-litre V6 in the V6 SE, and a 4.4-litre V8 in the V8 SE and V8 HSE. All use a six-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive, four-corner height-adjustable air suspension, and an electronically-controlled locking centre differential. The driver-selectable Terrain Response sets the vehicle for general driving, grass/gravel/snow, mud/ruts, sand, or rock crawl. All models can be optioned with a third row of seats, for seven-passenger seating.
Features on the V6 SE include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, two-panel sunroof, cruise control, leather-wrapped wheel with audio controls, cargo cover, eight-way power leather seats, heated first- and second-row seats, heated windshield washer nozzles, heated mirrors, keyless entry, rear fog lamps, six-CD Harman/Kardon stereo, rear parking assist, and electronic parking brake.
The V8 SE adds front fog lamps.
The V8 HSE adds 19-inch alloy wheels, navigation system, driver's position memory, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, bi-xenon headlamps, front park distance control, and premium 550-watt Harman/Kardon Logic7 stereo system.
Inherent to the Land Rover brand, the LR3 offers a luxury interior matched with outstanding off-road capability, tempered with very smooth on-road manners. Prices are unchanged from the 2008 levels.
