The Land Rover LR2, sometimes still referred to as the Freelander, has been completely revised for 2013. A new 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine, shared with the Evoque, replaces the outgoing 3.2-litre inline six. The design of the revised model now sports a look more in the style of other models in the Land Rover range.
The LR2's new 2.0-litre turbo four, with 240 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque, is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and Haldex all-wheel drive.
Trims include LR2, LR2 SE, LR2 HSE, and LR2 HSE LUX.
LR2 standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, all-wheel drive, 11-speaker Meridian AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio with auxiliary/USB input, underbody protection for mechanical components, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, hill start assist, cornering brake control, push button start, Bluetooth, cruise control, smart key, TPMS, external temperature gauge, 7.0-inch multifunction screen, trip computer, LED taillights, automatic headlights, anti-theft protection, engine immobilizer, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain, driver knee airbags), LATCH, leather seating, leather wrapped steering wheel with tilt/telescopic adjustment, Terrain Response full and part-time 4WD, automatic dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, electrically heated windshield, and heated power mirrors.
LR2 SE adds 18-inch wheels, roof spoiler, Park Distance Control, high pressure headlight cleaners, and fog lights.
LR2 HSE adds bi-xenon headlights, directional headlight control, power glass sunroof, and glass roof.
LR2 HSE LUX adds driver position memory and auto-tilting reverse mirrors.
