History/Overview
This marks the sixth year in the marketplace for what is arguably Kia’s most impressive car, the Stinger sport sedan. Though it wears the humble Kia name, the Stinger benefits from a platform shared with the Genesis G70.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
Following a styling refresh and other updates in 2022, the Stinger moves into 2023 unchanged.
Available Trims
Kia offers the Stinger in GT Limited and GT Elite trims. Both use a 3.3L turbo V6 engine, an eight-speed transmission, and AWD.
Standard Features
GT Limited trim comes with 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, auto on/off LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a sunroof, and power-folding/auto-dimming side mirrors. Inside, there’s leather upholstery on front seats that are heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable, and heated rear seats. You also get a heated steering wheel, dual-zone A/C, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 15-speaker audio, wireless phone charging, passive keyless entry, a hands-free tailgate, digital gauge display, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Standard safety kit includes adaptive cruise, highway drive assist, blind spot collision mitigation, lane keep/follow assist, forward collision mitigation, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert.
GT Elite adds adaptive headlights, Nappa leather, adjustable front-seat bolsters, head-up display, a blind spot view monitor, and 360-degree camera views.
Key Options
GT Elite can be optioned with a suede package that adds suede seat inserts and dash trim, red stitching, and red seatbelts.
Fuel Economy
Kia’s fuel consumption estimates are 13.7/9.6 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The Stinger is effectively in a class of one, but if you’re looking for cars to compare it to, try the Audi A5 Sportback, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, and the Volvo V60.
