Kia's Rondo multi-purpose vehicle moves into 2016 with three fewer trim levels: The seven-seat versions of the LX and EX Value models are gone, along with the five-seat EX value version.
That still leaves nine trim levels, all of which share a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that makes 164 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque, which comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission in all but the entry-level LX model, which gets a six-speed manual.
Fuel consumption figures are 10.4/7.8 L/100 km (city/highway) with the manual, and 10.1/7.6 with the automatic.
Standard features include 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, electric power steering with adjustable assist, tilt-and-telescopic steering, trip computer, cloth seats, air conditioning, manual seat adjustments with driver's height adjustment, power locks, mirrors and windows, heated side mirrors, six-speaker stereo and keyless entry.
LX Value AT trim adds the automatic transmission, Active ECO drive mode selector, windshield wiper de-icer, fog lights, heated front seats, cooling glove box, conversation mirror and lighted vanity mirrors.
LX AT adds 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, backup warning system and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter. This trim can be optioned with a third row of seating.
EX AT brings rear door sunshades, power driver's seat with lumbar and seat cushion extender, 17-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, intelligent keyless entry with push-button start, UVO infotainment system, backup camera, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather seating, high-gloss black interior trim, power-folding side mirrors, heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers and chrome door handles and exterior trim. Again, three-row seating is an option here.
EX Luxury trim builds on the seven-seat EX AT and adds an upgraded gauge cluster, black headliner, ventilated driver's seat, heated second row seats and front and rear parking sensors.
EX Luxury with navigation adds navigation, LED taillights, panoramic sunroof, HID headlights, headlight washers and an electric parking brake. This trim can be further optioned with 18-inch wheels.
Prices range from $21,495 to $32,595.
