An all-new generation Kia Forte 5-door debuts for the 2014 model year. Aggressively styled and marketed to attract younger buyers, the Forte competes in the most competitive car segment in Canada, against well established compact cars like the Mazda3, Ford Focus and a car that actually shares basic components, the Hyundai Elantra GT.
The new 1.6-litre direct-injected (GDI) turbocharged four-cylinder engine that comes in the SX editions of Forte 5-door can generate 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful Forte from Kia to date. The SX edition also comes with a more aggressive front fascia with larger bumper and grille openings, black gloss grille inserts, larger front brakes, alloy sport pedals, front and rear seats with carbon fibre-style accents. The lower front fascia and rear valance also feature carbon fibre-look trim pieces.
The Forte 5-door comes in three trim levels, LX+, EX and SX and two engine choices, plus a long list of premium amenities and features.
The LX+ trim level includes; 16” alloy wheels; Air conditioning; Cruise control; Fog lights; Heated front seats; Obstacle-detecting front windows; Rear climate ventilation; Remote keyless entry with panic function; Sideview mirror signal repeaters; Windshield wiper de-icer.
The EX trim additions include: 17” machined-finish alloy wheels; Leather steering wheel and shift knob; Flex Steer; Stainless steel exhaust tip; Split-chrome outside door handles; Auto- dimming rearview mirror; Auto folding outside mirrors; UVO infotainment system; Rear view camera; LED positioning lamps; Rear center armrest with cup holders; and auto light control.
The SX trim additions include; Clean Air ionizer; Memory driver seat; LED light bar taillights; Leather seats; Cooled/ventilated driver seat; Heated Rear Seats; Heated Steering Wheel; 10- way power driver seat; Alloy Pedals; Cooling Glove Box; Dual Zone Auto Climate Control; Push Button Start; Smart Key; Multimedia Interface /w voice-activated navigation; Xenon HID Headlights; and steering wheel paddle shifters.
