2008 Jaguar XJ

For 2008, the Jaguar XJ models receive updated styling, including a new bumper and grille design, side power vents, lower body sills, rear aero spoiler and larger wheels.

The XJ is available with two engines and two wheelbase lengths. All use a 4.2-litre V8; the regular-wheelbase XJ8 and the long-wheelbase Vanden Plas are naturally-aspirated, while the regular-wheelbase XJR and the long-wheelbase Super V8 are supercharged. All use a six-speed automatic transmission.

Features on the XJ8 include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, 16-way heated leather seats, heated rear seats, Bluetooth hands-free telephone system, Computer Active Technology System (CATS) active suspension damping, self-levelling air suspension, electronic parking brake, Burl Walnut or Elm wood interior trim, power-adjustable pedals with memory, power sunroof, reverse park control, wood and leather steering wheel, AM/FM stereo, and Xenon headlamps with washers.

The Vanden Plas adds 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and cooled front seats, front park control, twin-stitched trimmed dash, deep-pile lambs-wool footwell rugs, premium AM/FM stereo, DVD-based touch-screen satellite navigation system, rear fold-down picnic trays and power-folding mirrors.

The XJR builds on the XJ8 with 20-inch alloy wheels, R Performance-tuned CATS adaptive damping, R Performance brakes, radar-based adaptive cruise control, front park control, heated and cooled front seats, Burl Walnut or Satin American Walnut wood interior trim, R Performance leather-wrapped wheel, twin-stitched trimmed dash, premium AM/FM stereo, DVD-based touch-screen satellite navigation system, electric rear sunshade and power-folding mirrors.

The Super V8 builds on the Vanden Plas with 20-inch alloy wheels, touring-tuned CATS adaptive damping, JaguarVoice voice-activated controls, R Performance brakes, radar-based adaptive cruise control, DVD-based touch-screen satellite navigation system, rear DVD multimedia entertainment system with twin display screens, four-zone air conditioning system, front park control, heated and cooled front seats, electrically-adjustable rear bench seat with rear control for front passenger seat, heated wood and leather steering wheel, premium AM/FM stereo, twin-stitched trimmed dash, deep-pile lambs-wool footwell rugs, rear fold-down picnic trays and power-folding mirrors.
