History/Overview
While most automakers dipped their toes in the electrified vehicle segment with hybrids before graduating to battery electrics, Jaguar dove right in to the EV segment with the I-Pace in 2019. What started out as a three-model lineup was trimmed to a single configuration in 2022, priced just under the $100,000 mark.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2023, the I-Pace gains a handful of new features, including Amazon Alexa integration, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and an updated charging preferences menu.
Available Trims
Jaguar offers the I-Pace in a single HSE trim level. Electric motors power the front and rear axles for all-wheel drive traction.
Standard Features
The I-Pace’s exterior features include auto-leveling LED headlights, power-folding side mirrors with driver’s-side auto dimming, air suspension, passive keyless entry, a power tailgate, and 20-inch wheels. Inside, there are dual touchscreens, navigation, Windsor leather upholstery, 16-way adjustable/heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. Also included are an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a surround-sound stereo, and wireless phone charging.
A standard safety kit comprises rain-sensing wipers, driver condition monitor, forward collision mitigation, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, and rear cross-traffic monitoring.
Key Options
To the I-Pace HSE you can add four-zone A/C, a cooled glove box, upgraded interior lighting, adaptive dynamics, a camera-based rearview mirror, hands-free tailgate, and a cold-climate package of a heated windshield and washer jets.
Fuel Economy
As of this writing Jaguar hadn’t published energy consumption estimates for the I-Pace, but they should be similar to those for the 2022 model, at 3.0/3.3 Le/100 km (city/highway). Jaguar’s driving range rating is 357 km.
Competition
The I-Pace competes for the attention of EV buyers with the Tesla Model Y, Audi E-Tron, BMW iX, and Volvo’s XC40 and C40 Recharge models.
