History/Overview
The F-Pace was Jaguar’s first volley into the luxury SUV segment in 2017, when Jag was one of the last upscale automakers to join that fast-growing marketplace. The mid-size F-Pace was refreshed last year with a styling update, new infotainment, and an available mild-hybrid drivetrain.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2022, the Jaguar F-Pace is unchanged.
Available Trims
You can get your F-Pace in S, R-Dynamic, and SVR trim levels. There are three engine options, and four levels of performance: S and R-Dynamic S start with a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, and both can be optioned with a 3.0L mild hybrid V6 that comes in P340 and P400 power configurations; SVR gets a 5.0L supercharged V8. All trims and engines come with an eight-speed transmission and AWD.
Standard Features
F-Pace S trim comes with LED headlights, a panoramic roof, power-folding mirrors with driver’s side auto-dimming, LED taillights, 19-inch wheels, passive keyless entry, and a power tailgate.
Inside, you get dual-zone A/C, an auto-dimming mirror, an 11.4-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration, wireless phone charging, and a heated steering wheel.
The basic safety package comprises automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, forward collision alert/mitigation, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, clear exit and driver condition monitors, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert.
R-Dynamic adds an adaptive dynamics suspension, and some cosmetic tweaks.
Finally, SVR models gain 21-inch wheels, electric steering column adjustments, an active differential with torque vectoring, digital gauges, upgraded brakes, a switchable active exhaust, headlight washers, adaptive cruise control, and surround-view cameras.
Key Options
A convenience package bundles a hands-free tailgate, electric steering column, and Jaguar’s activity key. A hot climate pack brings four-zone A/C, and a cooled glove box.
The park assist package bundles that function with 360-degree cameras, and a dynamic handling option brings selectable drive modes and the adaptive dynamics suspension.
You can also option in a cargo practicality package of trunk rails, a cargo net, and remote rear-seat release levers.
Fuel Economy
Jaguar’s fuel consumption estimates for the F-Pace are 10.7/8.8 L/100 km (city/highway) with the 2.0L engine; as of this writing, the company hasn’t published ratings for the F-Pace’s V6 and V8 powertrains.
Competition
The mid-size luxury SUV class sees the Jaguar F-Pace going up against the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90, Land Rover Velar, Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and Lexus RX.
