History/Overview
Introduced in 2017, the F-Pace is Jaguar's first-ever SUV model, which competes in the mid-size luxury class. Making the move into SUV territory was a big deal for this British brand better-known for traditional luxury sedans.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
New for 2020 are the Checkered Flag and 300 Sport trim levels.
Available Trims
Jaguar offers the F-Pace in Premium, Prestige, R-Sport, Checkered Flag, Portfolio, 300 Sport, S and SVR trims. The first six come standard with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine in two states of tune. S trim uses a supercharged V6 and the SVR gets a supercharged V8. An eight-speed transmission and AWD are standard across the board.
Last year's diesel engine has fallen off the option sheet.
Standard Features
F-Pace Premium comes with 19-inch wheels, halogen headlights, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, LED taillights, approach lighting, auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, power tailgate, tire pressure monitoring, leather-trimmed steering wheel, 10-way power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, emergency braking, passive keyless entry, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, driver condition monitor, Meridian stereo with 10.0-inch touchscreen display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a 5.0-inch digital gauge cluster display.
Prestige trim brings xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, leather upholstery, sport steering wheel, traffic sign recognition, navigation, heated steering wheel and power steering column adjustment.
R-Sport adds 20-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, trim-specific front bumper, fog lights and automatic high beams.
The Checkered Flag package includes 19-inch wheels, trim-specific exterior styling elements, CD/DVD player and a 12.3-inch all-digital gauge cluster.
Portfolio trim adds 20-inch wheels, 20-way front seat adjustments, configurable mood lighting, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats and a head-up display.
The 300 Sport package includes trim-specific 20-inch wheels and exterior styling elements.
F-Pace S gets its own 20-inch wheel design and body kit, grained leather and suede sport seats, 18-way power front seat adjustments, adaptive dynamics and red brake calipers, and it reverts to analog gauges.
SVR trim gains 21-inch wheels, SVR body kit, quad tailpipes, quilted performance seats, sport shift selector, larger brakes, 14-way front seats, active rear differential and a 360-degree parking aid.
Key Options
Jaguar offers the F-Pace model with a Cold Climate package (heated windshield, heated front and rear seats and heated steering wheel) and a Drive package (blind spot assist, adaptive cruise and high-speed emergency braking). Other extras include an adaptive dynamics package, electrically reclining rear seats and hands-free tailgate, four-zone climate control, a Technology Package (navigation and digital gauges) and a Park package.
Fuel Economy
Jaguar's fuel consumption figures for the F-Pace are 10.7/8.8 L/100 km (city/highway) with the four-cylinder engine and 13.3/10.0 for the V6-powered S. As of this writing, Jaguar had not published estimates for the SVR and its V8.
Competition
With the F-Pace, Jaguar seeks out buyers who might be considering a Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, Volvo XC90, Land Rover Range Rover Sport or Discovery Sport, Acura MDX or Lexus RX.
