History/Overview
Infiniti introduced the QX55 last year as a coupe-like companion to its QX50 compact crossover. The two vehicles are mechanically identical, but the QX55 is positioned as a premium option to the already upscale QX50 (which is covered in a separate buyer’s guide entry).
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2023, Infiniti has made leather upholstery and the ProPilot Assist package standard across the QX55 lineup.
Available Trims
Infiniti offers the QX55 in Luxe, Essential, and Sensory trim levels. All are powered by a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine with variable compression technology, a continuously variable transmission, and AWD.
Standard Features
Luxe trim comes with LED headlights, a sunroof, power-folding side mirrors, a wiper de-icer, 20-inch wheels, power/heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leather upholstery. There’s also dual-zone A/C, heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, a power tailgate, dual touchscreens, and six-speaker audio.
Safety features include automatic high beams, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring/intervention, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and intelligent cruise control.
Essential trim adds adaptive headlights, electric steering wheel adjustments, ventilated front seats, a 16-speaker stereo, navigation, front parking sensors, and surround-view cameras.
Sensory’s additions include posher leather, maple wood trim, three-zone A/C with rear-seat controls, a head-up display, and heated rear seats.
Fuel Economy
Infiniti’s fuel consumption estimates are 10.5/8.3 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The Q55 competes in a niche compact crossover segment with the BMW X4, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, Audi Q5 Sportback, and Jaguar E-Pace.
