History/Overview
The QX50 is one of the most innovative models in Infiniti’s Canadian lineup, featuring the luxury segment’s only variable compression engine design. It powers a compact crossover that we’d argue is one of the most stylish in its segment.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
This year, the QX50 gets a new Sport trim level; in addition, all QX50 configurations gain new standard features, which we’ve detailed below. Infiniti has also trimmed the QX50’s trim selection to three from last year’s five.
Available Trims
The 2023 QX50 comes in Pure, Sport, and Sensory trims. All are powered by the aforementioned variable-compression 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, whose power goes through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and AWD.
Standard Features
Pure trim’s new features are a frameless auto-dimming interior mirror and a wireless phone charging pad. This package also comes with auto on/off headlights with high beam assist, LED fog lights, 19-inch wheels, passive keyless entry, a power tailgate, and a front wiper de-icer. Inside, you get leatherette upholstery, heated/power-adjustable front seats, heated steering wheel, dual-zone A/C, and dual 8.0-inch/7.0-inch touchscreens.
The standard safety package comprises forward collision mitigation, ProPilot Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning/prevention, blind spot monitoring/intervention, and rear parking sensors.
Sport brings a sunroof, power-folding side mirrors, 20-inch wheels, semi-aniline leather seating, a hands-free tailgate, ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, 12-speaker audio, navigation, front parking sensors, and surround-view cameras.
Sensory adds cube-design LED headlights, power steering column adjustments, heated rear seats, a head-up driver display, and a 16-speaker stereo.
Fuel Economy
Infiniti’s fuel consumption estimates are 10.8/8.3 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
Cross-shop the QX50 against the Lexus NX, Lincoln Corsair, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Acura RDX, Volvo XC60, Cadillac XT5, Audi Q5, and BMW X3.
