History/Overview
The Infiniti QX50's big idea is the 2.0L variable compression engine that it debuted with for model year 2019. That engine changes the compression ratio inside to make more power or save fuel depending on how you're driving. This is the second generation of the model that was previously called the Infiniti EX.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2021, Infiniti has made just some small changes including adding automatic collision notification to the connected services suite, and has added traffic sign recognition and head-up display to some trims.
Available Trims
Infiniti offers the QX50 in a total of six trims, all with all-wheel drive and the same 2.0L 268 hp turbo-four. The base is Pure, then it progresses through Luxe, Essential, Essential Tech, Sensory, and Autograph.
Standard Features
Pure QX50 means 19-inch alloys and leatherette seating. It includes LED head and running lights and heated mirrors, as well as puddle lamps. Inside are eight-way power front seats, both heated with a heated wheel, and an electroluminescent gauge panel. The tailgate has power opening, there is dual-zone climate control, and all windows can be opened through the key fob. An 8.0 touchscreen controls infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as active noise cancellation. Below the 8.0-inch screen is a 7.0-inch version that handles other functions. Standard driver assistance includes blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert with rear parking sensors, and lane departure warning.
Pure adds a power tilting panoramic roof, adaptive cruise control, and Infiniti ProPilot Assist including forward emergency braking, rear automatic braking, lane departure prevention, blind spot intervention, and lane centering.
Essential includes surround view cameras and adds navigation to the infotainment system along with satellite radio. It also adds power-adjustable steering wheel and memory functions for seat, mirrors, and steering. Essential Tech adds Bose 16-speaker audio, and 20-inch alloys.
Sensory includes dark 20-inch wheels along with semi-aniline leather seating. It has advanced climate control with Plasmacluster air purifier and grape polyphenol filter along with a head-up display and motion-activated tailgate.
Finally, Autograph adds white semi-aniline seating with quilted stitching, as well as blue and brown Ultrasuede trimming to the upper doors, pillars, and roof.
