Other than a name change from M to Q70, and Infiniti’s decision to drop the rear-drive gas-powered models from the lineup, Infiniti’s full-size flagship sedan carries over into 2014 unchanged.
Rival to the Lexus GS and BMW 5 Series, the Q70 offers buyers a sporty driving experience, a luxurious cabin, and plenty of technology in a choice of three different powertrains.
The Q70 3.7 AWD comes standard with Infiniti’s 3.7-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine. The Q70 5.6 AWD offers a naturally aspirated 5.6-litre V6 engine. The Q70 Hybrid gets a 3.5-litre V6 engine paired to a 50-kW electric motor. All use a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Features on the Q70 3.7 AWD include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming sideview mirrors, trunk closer, intelligent key with pushbutton ignition, power sunroof, auto up/down windows, illuminated vanity mirrors, ten-way power heated leather seats, AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo, satellite radio, USB connector, 7.0-inch display audio system, reverse camera, Bluetooth connectivity, electroluminescent gauges, analog clock, power tilt and telescopic steering column, xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and power-folding heated mirrors with reverse tilt-down.
The Q70 Hybrid builds on the standard Q70 and adds premium automatic climate control, sport-tuned suspension, Bose surround sound audio system, navigation system, auto-leveling adaptive headlamps, intelligent cruise control, Eco Pedal, premium leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, power rear sunshade, power trunk, silver-powdered wood accents, Ultrasuede headliner, distance control assist, intelligent brake assist with forward collision warning, blind spot warning and intervention system, pre-crash seatbelts, and lane departure warning and prevention system.
The Q70 5.6 AWD builds on the Q70 3.7 AWD and adds navigation system with 8.0-inch screen and voice recognition, Bose premium audio system, 9.3 GB Music Box hard drive, Bluetooth streaming audio, ventilated front seats, and heated steering wheel.
Both the Q70 3.7 AWD and 5.6 AWD can be optioned with a Sport package that adds 20-inch alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, bolstered sport seats, sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, adaptive front lighting, intelligent cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, distance control assist, intelligent brake assist with forward collision warning, blind spot intervention system, active tracing control, eco pedal, Forest Air system with air purifier, aluminum pedal accents, and power rear sunshade.
