NEW FOR 2008:
- All-new model
An all-new model for 2008, the EX35 is Infiniti's new compact SUV.
Although its shape and size are similar to the all-new Nissan Rogue, the EX35 is not related; instead, it rides on a platform derived from the Infiniti G35 sedan. It shares the G35's 3.5-litre V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. While a rear-wheel drive model is available in the U.S., Canadian vehicles are all-wheel drive only. The system is Infiniti's ATTESA E-TS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic Torque Split), which is also used on the company's M, FX and G models.
The EX35 also showcases some of Infiniti's new technology. It is the second Infiniti production vehicle after the M to offer the company's new Lane Departure Prevention system, and it is the first to offer the Around View Monitor system, which uses four small cameras to give the driver a "top-down view" of the outside of the vehicle while parking, and Scratch Shield, a special "self-healing" clearcoat paint. The new paint contains a highly elastic resin that repairs fine scratches, such as fingernail scratches under door handles, in anywhere from a day to a week, depending on ambient temperature and the depth of the scratch.
Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, electroluminescent gauges, tilt and telescopic steering column, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, LED taillights, fog lamps, heated mirrors with reverse tilt-down, aluminum roof rails, Intelligent Key with pushbutton ignition, seven-inch Infiniti Controller screen with trip computer, CD stereo with auxiliary jack and XM Satellite Radio, heated seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror with compass, tire pressure monitoring system and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Available packages add such options as power sunroof, power-folding second-row seats, garage door opener, automatic headlamps, navigation system and premium stereo.
