Overview
Introduced just last year, the Hyundai Venue is one of the growing class of very small crossovers, but it's quickly moving toward the top of the brand's sales chart because it's also the lowest-priced crossover on the market. Like much of the segment it doesn't offer all-wheel drive, but it does offer the upright driving position and more rugged looks crossover buyers want. It's also one of the only vehicles in the class to offer a manual gearbox.

Introduced just last year, the Venue is unchanged for 2021.
Available Trims
Hyundai offers four trims of Venue, Essential, Preferred, Trend, and Ultimate. All use the same 1.6L four-cylinder engine, while Essential offers a choice of six-speed stick or CVT automatic. All other trims are CVT only.
Standard Features
Venue Essentials offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on an 8.0-inch touchscreen, as well as a 3.5-inch digital dash display. Air conditioning is standard along with power windows and locks, and there is a six-way manual-adjust driver's seat plus both front seats are heated. Illuminated vanity mirrors on both sides and a sliding driver's sun visor, plus automatic headlights and heated side mirrors are included. Essential with a CVT also gets cruise control.
Preferred adds 15-inch alloy wheels and drive mode select with snow mode, and adds active safety features including blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warning, lane change assist, high beam assist, lane keeping assist, and forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection. Comfort and convenience additions include proximity key with push-start and remote start and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.
More stylish Trend offers 17-inch alloys and an upgraded audio pack, along with available interior colour packs described in key options below. It also adds a power sunroof. It has blind spot collision warning with rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist, but does not come with high-beam assist, lane keeping assist, or forward collision avoidance.
Ultimate adds rear disc brakes and restores the driver aids of Preferred. It also adds navigation to the infotainment system and Hyundai's BlueLink connected vehicle services and satellite radio. Automatic climate control is included and the driver's window adds automatic up/down.
Key Options
Trend offers an Urban Edition package that drops the sunroof but adds two-tone exterior paint, LED headlights with cornering function, and lets you pick denim blue or two-tone interior packages.
Fuel Economy
Six-speed Venue is rated for an estimated 8.6 L/100 km city, 6.8 highway while all CVT models are rated for 7.9 city, 7.0 highway.
Competition
The Hyundai Venue competes against a number of equally stylish models including the Toyota C-HR and the Nissan Kicks, as well as the AWD-offering Mazda CX-3, Jeep Renegade, and Honda HR-V. It also competes with the Kia Soul.
