Hyundai's Sonata has been the brand's big sedan for decades, now having just entered its latest generation with a return to dramatic styling like it did two models past. The Sonata stands out in a world of crossovers and every-fewer sedans with its bold nose and scalloped sides. In hybrid form, it also makes sure to pass by fuel stations while sipping lightly.

The Sonata was all new last year, so there are no changes of note for the 2021 version.

Available Trims

Sonata Hybrid keeps the model line simple. Just one trim is available, Ultimate, with a 2.0L four-cylinder and electric motor providing 192 hp and 271 lb-ft of total system output, driving a six-speed automatic.

Standard Features

The Sonata Hybrid starts with 17-inch alloy wheels and LED head and taillights. It has a solar roof to help capture the sun's rays for extra electricity when parked. Leather seats are heated front and rear, ventilated up front, with a heated steering wheel. Both driver and passenger get power adjustment. Proximity key and push-button ignition are included. The Sonata Hybrid has wireless phone charging as a 12-speaker Bose audio system with satellite radio, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay on a 10.25-inch screen. The dash is a 12.3-inch cluster and there is a head-up display.

Driver aids include surround view and blind spot cameras, Highway Driving Assist, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian, cyclist, and intersection detection, adaptive cruise, blind spot and rear cross traffic collision avoidance, parking sensors, and rear occupant alert.

Key Options

The only option on Sonata Hybrid is the paint colour.
