In 2020, Hyundai moved its crossover SUV lineup in a bold direction, introducing the Palisade as its top utility model. It replaced the Santa Fe XL as the brand’s sole three-row vehicle, with upmarket styling helping it to stand out in the crowded mid-size SUV segment.

For 2022, the Hyundai Palisade carries forward with no changes.
Available Trims
You can have your Palisade in Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate Calligraphy trim levels, and with either seven- or eight-passenger configurations, depending on which trim you choose.
Regardless of trim, power is from a 3.8L V6 engine, an eight-speed transmission, and AWD.
Standard Features
Palisade Essential trim’s cabin comes equipped with cloth upholstery, heated front seats, sliding second-row seats, an 8.0-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone integration, seven USB ports, air conditioning, and a heated/leather-trimmed steering wheel.
Outside, Essential wears 18-inch alloy wheels, auto on/off LED headlights, and heated side mirrors.
Safety items include automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic braking, rear occupant alert, and rear parking sensors.
Preferred adds power-adjustable front seats, heated rear seats, dual-zone auto A/C, a 7.0-inch driver info display, passive keyless entry, rear sun shades, sunroof, 20-inch wheels, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with collision avoidance assist, and safe exit assist.
Luxury gains LED interior lighting, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, power-folding third-row seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 12-speaker audio, in-car intercom, leatherette dash trim, surround-view cameras, hands-free tailgate operation, a blind view monitor, front parking sensors, and highway driving assist.
Finally, Ultimate Calligraphy trim brings Nappa leather, ventilated rear seats, head-up driver display, wireless smartphone charging, a suede headliner, 12.3-inch digital gauge display, a dual-panel sunroof, a 115-volt power outlet, LED taillights, puddle lights, and rain-sensing wipers.

Competition
Despite its upscale looks, the Hyundai Palisade competes with a raft of mainstream mid-size crossovers. They include the Honda Pilot, Kia Telluride, Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, Mazda CX-9, Subaru Ascent, Dodge Durango, and Volkswagen Atlas.
