NEW FOR 2010:
- New trim lines: L, GL, GLS, and GLS with Sport Package
- GL adds cruise control, deluxe centre console with armrest, power heated mirrors, driver’s height adjuster and cooled glove box; heated seats are removed
- GLS adds standard electronic stability control and traction control
An all-new model for 2009, the Elantra Touring’s trim lines are changed for 2010. Models are now the L, GL and GLS, with an available Sport Package on the GLS. The GL now gains cruise control, heated mirrors, height-adjustable driver’s seat, deluxe console and cooled glove box, but loses its heated seats. Electronic stability and traction control, unavailable for 2009, are now standard on the GLS.
The Elantra Touring shares its name and engine with the Elantra sedan, but is built on a different platform, and in other world markets is known as the i30.
All models use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with five-speed manual transmission, or optional four-speed automatic. Trim lines are the L, GL, GLS, and GLS with Sport Package.
Features on the L include 15-inch steel wheels, cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input and USB port, four speakers, black manual mirrors, floor mats, vanity mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, intermittent rear wiper, power locks, driver’s auto-down window, map lights, rear centre armrest, sunglass holder, and tilt steering wheel.
The GL adds air conditioning, anti-lock brakes with brake force distribution, front centre console with storage box, active front head restraints, side and curtain airbags, power heated mirrors, keyless entry, driver’s seat height adjuster, and cruise control.
The GLS adds six speakers, cooled glove box, cargo-area power outlet, illuminated vanity mirrors, driver’s seat lumbar support, electronic stability control, traction control, fog lights, heated seats, body-colour mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, windshield de-icer, and trip computer.
The Sport Package adds 17-inch alloy wheels, iPod interface, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, exterior temperature display, rear spoiler, and power sunroof.
