NEW FOR 2009:
- One trim line offered
- New radiator grille design, 17-inch alloy wheel design, enhanced metal grain insert pattern, and USB and auxiliary auto inputs
For 2009, the Hyundai Azera's two previous trim lines are compressed into a single model; minor restyling includes a redesigned grille, new wheel design, and the addition of auxiliary inputs for the audio system.
The Azera uses a 3.8-litre V6 engine, mated exclusively to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.
Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, fog lights, windshield wiper de-icer, heated leather seats with driver and passenger power adjustment, front active head restraints, woodgrain interior trim, power windows, power locks with keyless entry, security alarm system, power sunroof, trip computer, garage door opener, leather-wrapped steering wheel, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, and chrome exterior package.
Bumped from its place as Hyundai's flagship sedan with the introduction of the rear-wheel drive Genesis, the Azera nevertheless remains a luxury liner on a budget. Its handling isn't as tight as on some competitors, but it's still pleasant to drive, especially on long highway trips. The extensive warranty is an added bonus in this segment.
