NEW FOR 2012: - Redesigned model For 2012, the Hyundai Accent is redesigned into its fourth generation. It is available as a four-door hatchback or four-door sedan; the two-door hatchback is discontinued. The new model is larger than the one it replaces, with more power and with new standard safety features. All Accent models use a new, direct-injection 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission or optional six-speed automatic on all models except for the GLS sedan, which uses the automatic exclusively. Both configurations are available as the L, GL and GLS. Features on the L sedan include 14-inch steel wheels, height-adjustable driver’s seat, four-wheel disc brakes, active front head restraints, tilt steering wheel, power locks, CD/MP3 stereo with USB and iPod interface, and floor mats. Air conditioning can be added as a dealer-installed option. The GL adds air conditioning, keyless entry, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cruise control, power windows with driver’s auto-down, heated mirrors, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and two additional speakers. The GLS adds 16-inch alloy wheels, voice-activated Bluetooth, power sunroof, heated seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, mirror-mounted turn signals and fog lamps. The hatchback models are similarly equipped but add a rear spoiler.
