AlPal This is my 2nd Ridgeline. April 02, 2016
Overall Score
This is my second Ridgeline I leased both trucks for a 48month term. It rides like a SUV but it has the box in the back to carry your stuff. I've had 1 Snowmobile, 3 Dirt Bikes, ATV not to mention gardening stuff like top soil, gravel, Plants, Trees, Etc... Etc... The list goes on. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a heavy duty work truck. But for me it's perfect because I'm always throwing stuff in the back which I could't do with a SUV or a car. My 2nd lease is expiring next week and I want to try a different truck but I want to say with a Mid-size truck. I'm probably going to get another Ridgeline. The maintenance is zero on this truck. All I do is my scheduled maintenance and put in gas and go. I would recommend this truck to anyone who is looking for a reliable truck who like to carry stuff like me. Oh I almost forgot the hidden trunk it's great to store tools, Golf clubs, Hockey Bags etc... Or you can just use it for a tailgate party. Al Pal

Issue: On certain vehicles, the weight sensor for the front passenger seat may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the passenger-front airbag and knee airbag could deploy in a crash that doesn't require them to. ** Do not post before review is completed ** Issue: This recall is for Honda Genuine Accessory tri-fold tonneau covers that were sold as an accessory by Honda dealers. There may be a problem with the bed-cover that could cause it to come loose while driving and detach from the truck. Note: This recall is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Safety Risk: A bed-cover cover that separates from a moving truck could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer for an inspection. If necessary, the dealer will install a tether between the center and rear panels of the tonneau cover to prevent them from separating. The dealer will also provide you with an updated accessory owner's manual and apply warning labels that remind you to properly secure the tonneau cover before driving. Note: Until the recall repairs are completed, you can prevent the tonneau cover from coming loose by removing and storing it.

Issue: On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Note: This is a new recall campaign that includes vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced under a previous recall or had a replacement airbag installed. The previous recall provided an interim (short-term) repair. Interim repair parts must be replaced with the final repair parts provided in this recall. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective Action: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver and/or passenger-front airbag inflator. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

Issue: During a car wash, water can drain from the truck bed onto the top of the fuel pump. Certain car wash detergents containing sulfuric acid could cause damage to the fuel pump. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer for an inspection of the fuel pump. On certain vehicles, moisture could enter the rear wiring harness through a connection located underneath a drain hole in the truck bed and cause corrosion to form in some connection terminals. If corrosion of the rear wheel speed sensor terminals occurs, it could increase the electrical resistance and may be interpreted by the vehicle stability assist (VSA) as wheel slippage, resulting in a decrease of engine torque or brake application to the rear wheel(s). The unexpected and unnecessary application of brake assist while driving may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the rear wiring harness and corresponding rear drivetrain components for moisture and/or corrosion. If present, the dealer will replace the rear wiring harness and corresponding components as necessary. If there is no moisture or corrosion, the dealer will repair the rear wiring harness to eliminate the potential for moisture intrusion.

The dealer-installed accessory trailer wiring harness includes a circuit to provide for back-up lights, if present on a trailer, to illuminate when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. When installed, and the ignition key is turned to the accessory position, the electronic display in the instrument panel indicates the actual position of the gearshift selector and also illuminates the reverse position indicator. If the reverse position is selected only the reverse position indicator will be lighted. The actual function of the transmission and that of the trailer lights will not be affected. When the ignition switch is in the accessory position the engine will always be off and the gearshift cannot be moved from the PARK position. Correction: Since this does not pose any safety risk, no corrective action is required.
