No major changes come to Honda's minivan for 2016, which returns as one of just two vehicles offered with a built-in vacuum cleaner, the other being the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan introduced to the world in January 2016 at the Detroit auto show.
That vacuum is a pricey item though: it's only available as a standard feature in the top-trim Touring model ($48,750!), and isn't an option anywhere else in the range. Working our way down, the next stop is the EX-L Navi ($42,750), EX-L RES (which stands for rear-seat entertainment, also priced at $42,750), EX RES ($37,240), EX ($35,740), SE, ($32,740), and finally, the entry-level LX trim, at $30,690.
All models share a 3.5L V6 engine with active noise cancellation and active cylinder management (248 hp/250 lb-ft of torque) mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Odyssey's official fuel consumption figures are 12.3/8.5 L/100 km (city/highway).
Standard feature highlights include an eight-way power driver's seat, four-way power front passenger seat, seven-passenger seating, dual-zone air conditioning, 60/40 split-folding third-row "magic seat," seven-speaker stereo, backup camera, heated side mirrors, and auto-off headlights.
SE models add eight-passenger seating, removable front centre console, and 17-inch aluminum wheels (replacing 17-inch steelies).
EX trim gets the HondaLink touchscreen infotainment system, LaneWatch blind spot display, three-zone automatic climate control, intelligent keyless entry with pushbutton start, heated front seats, upgraded stereo, second-row sunshades, fully automatic headlights, and power sliding doors.
The EX RES model gets a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with nine-inch screen, two headphone jacks, and two sets of wireless headphones.
EX-L RES adds leather seats and steering wheel, sunroof, power tailgate, and front and rear parking sensors.
EX-L Navi vans get voice-activated navigation, and a multi-angle backup camera.
Finally, Touring brings the vacuum, blind spot information system (in place of LaneWatch), 12-speaker stereo, ultra widescreen rear-seat entertainment system with HDMI input, driver's seat memory, and tilt-down-in-reverse side mirrors.
