The CR-V stays the course for model year 2014 with no major changes. Then again, few changes were needed as the CR-V is one of the most pragmatic buys in the compact crossover segment.
The CR-V, regardless of trim level, is powered by a 2.4L 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that produces 185 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque. It's also an automatic-only affair, with a five-speed transmission sending power to either the front or all four wheels via Honda's Real Time AWD system. Bumps and potholes are smoothed out by a MacPherson strut front, multilink rear suspension.
There are four trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, and the Canadian-exclusive Touring.
In LX trim, features include front-wheel drive, 16-inch steel wheels, four-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA stereo with Bluetooth streaming audio and USB/auxiliary input and text message integration, auto-off headlights, air conditioning with filtration, rear privacy glass, two 12-volt power outlets, fuel economy indicator with range, compass, cruise control, exterior temperature gauge, driver's armrest, steering wheel mounted controls (cruise, audio, phone, i-MID), Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), intermittent windshield wipers, intermittent rear window wiper/washer, maintenance reminder, map lights, rear-view camera, power locks, power windows with driver's auto up/down, rear-seat centre armrest, remote entry, tilt and telescopic steering, 6-way adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, silver metallic instrument panel finish, and 60/40 split rear seats. The LX can be optioned with all-wheel drive.
EX adds 17-inch alloy wheels, body colour door handles and mirrors, heated mirrors, fog lights, auto on/off headlights, power moonroof, security system, 12-volt power outlets (x3), dual zone automatic climate control, seat back pockets, illuminated vanity mirrors, driver and passenger armrests, retractable cargo area cover, variable intermittent windshield wipers, and six-speaker stereo. EX can be optioned with all-wheel drive.
EX-L adds all-wheel drive, leather wrapped shifter, seven-speaker stereo with satellite radio, 10-way adjustable driver's seat with lumbar, leather trimmed seating, leather trimmed steering wheel, and woodgrain instrument panel finish.
Touring adds chrome door handles, roof rails, auto dimming rear-view mirror, and voice controlled navigation.
