For 2014, Honda has enhanced the Civic with additional technology and a new continuously-variable transmission that replaces the traditional 5-speed automatic. LX and Si models also see interior styling changes.
The Civic Sedan is available in DX, LX, EX, Touring, and Si trims.
For 2014, the standard engine receives a mild upgrade in power thanks to a new exhaust system. The 1.8L 16-valve, SOHC 4-cylinder engine now makes 143 hp and 129 lb-ft of torque. Si models use a more potent 2.4L motor that makes 205 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque.
A choice of three transmissions are available in the Civic. The base DX trim is only available with a 5-speed manual, while LX, EX have the option of a CVT. Touring models come standard with a CVT. The Si comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited slip front differential. All transmissions power the front wheels only.
Features on the DX include 15-inch steel wheels, EcoAssist system, electric power steering, front disc/rear drum brakes with ABS, immobilizer theft-deterrent system, LATCH, vehicle stability assist with traction control, smart maintenance minder, power windows, rear-seat heater ducts, tilt/telescopic steering, 6-way driver's seat, floor mats, fold-down rear seatback (one-piece), and 4-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input.
LX trim adds, body-colour door handles and mirrors, expanded view driver's mirror, air conditioning with cabin filter, exterior temperature indicator, HandsFreeLink Bluetooth phone interface, intelligent Multi-Information Display with TFT display, power locks, rear armrest, remote entry system with electronic truck release, steering wheel-mounted cruise control, 60/40 split/fold rear seat, heated front seats, Bluetooth streaming audio, illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls, a USB port, and text message functionality.
EX trim adds 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, HondaLink assist automatic emergency response system, power moonroof with tilt, automatic climate control, LaneWatch blind spot display, speed-sensing variable windshield wipers, rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, power windows with auto up/down driver's window, proximity key entry system with push button start, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 6-speaker Display Audio system, two USB ports, HDMI input, and Siri Eyes Free compatibility.
The range-topping Touring model adds continuously variable transmission, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, fog lights, automatic headlights, Display Audio with navigation, multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, 8-way power driver's seat, leather-trimmed seating, and satellite radio
The Si adds the uprated performance powertrain, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, exhaust finisher, wing spoiler, aluminum-trimmed sport pedals, 6-way driver's seat, cloth seating, navigation, and a subwoofer.
