2014 GMC Savana

CHANGES FOR 2014:

-Six-speed automatic transmission replaces four-speed with 4.8L V8

The Savana is GMC's full-size van, a mechanical twin to the Chevrolet Express and competitor to the likes of Mercedes' Sprinter and Nissan's NV. Savana is available in 1500, 2500 and 3500 models. A 4.3L V6 is standard in 1500 trim, making 185 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The upgrade is a 5.3L V8 good for 310 hp and 334 lb-ft. Engine options in 2500 and 3500 models include 4.8L (285 hp/295 lb-ft of torque) and 6.0L (342 hp/373 lb-ft) gas V8s, and a 6.6L turbodiesel V8 rated at 260 hp and 525 lb-ft of torque.

Savana 1500 uses a four-speed automatic and can be optioned with AWD; 2500 and 3500 trims get a six-speed automatic and are RWD only.

Savana 1500 can be ordered in SL and SLE trims. Eight-passenger seating is standard in 1500 models; 2500 and 3500 vans come with 12-passenger capacity that can be optioned up to 15 seats.

Standard features in SL trim include driver and front passenger airbags, head curtain side-impact airbags for the first three rows of seats, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, black bumpers, folding black side mirrors, 17-inch steel wheels (1500), 16-inch steel wheels (2500 and 3500), air conditioning, black vinyl floor covering, auxiliary rear heater, multi-function trip computer, front and rear dome lights, two 12-volt power outlets, power windows with driver express down, vinyl front bucket seats, and two-speaker AM/FM stereo with digital clock.

SLE models add 17-inch alloy wheels, rear air conditioning, power doors locks with keyless entry, chrome bumpers, electric rear defogger, chrome grille, outside temperature display, auxiliary light package, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, carpeting with rubber floor mats, remote starter, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, instrument panel stowage compartment, dual vanity mirrors with passenger side illumination, power windows with driver’s auto-down, cloth seats, CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers, USB port and XM satellite radio.

Available options on the passenger van include all-wheel drive, sliding side door, heated power mirrors, trailer tow package, and power-adjustable front seats.
