NEW FOR 2015:
-Redesigned model
GMC's mid-size pickup gets a ground-up redesign for 2015, ditching the last-generation's engines (which included an oddball five-cylinder) for new-to-Canyon 2.5L four-cylinder (200 hp/191 lb-ft of torque) and 3.6L V6 (305 hp/269 lb-ft) powerplants. Transmission choices are a six-speed manual that's standard with the four-cylinder, and a six-speed automatic that's optional with the 2.5L and standard in 3.6L models. Both engines are available with 2WD and 4WD.
Trim levels include SL, SLE and SLT.
SL models include a 4.2-inch colour radio, USB port, six-speaker stereo, driver information centre, air conditioning, power windows with driver auto up/down, backup camera, corner-step rear bumper, locking tailgate with damped opening and assisted closing, 17 bed tie-downs, active grille shutters, four-wheel disc brakes, four-way driver's seat with power fore-and-aft adjustment, cloth seats (vinyl available), and tilt steering.
SLE trim adds an eight-inch touchscreen stereo with IntelliLink, satellite radio, two USB charging ports on the rear of the centre console, overhead console, cruise control, rear window defroster, multi-colour driver information display, soft-touch dash with aluminum trim, dual reading lights, body-colour door handles, auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry, four-way power front seats, tilt-and-telescopic steering, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls.
Finally, the SLT gets automatic climate control, remote starting, leather seating, and heated front seats.
