Model Overview
The well-known Ranger name returned to the Ford family in 2019 as an all-new mid-size pickup truck. It's a big leap from the model's roots as a compact, and a good fit in today's competitive mid-range truck market. Ford's EcoBoost torquey turbo engine is a highlight, and while it's not the smoothest-riding or roomiest in the class, it trades on its maker's formidable experience in the pickup segment.

Here's my very short take on my 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4 Having just purchased the above vehicle, I'm really liking it so far. I was worried about the tough ride at first so I checked the tire pressure and all tires read 45 psi even though the suggested pressure on the drivers door jam said 32. The tail gate has what I would consider large gaps on both sides and bottom allowing dirt to get in and your personal property, soil compost pea gravel etc. to get out Having purchased the top model, one would think it would come with mudflaps and a 2inch trailer receiver and wiring hardware but it doesn't. That's pretty shabby, come on Ford. This is a $50,000 Canadian vehicle.
Extra storage inside and in the box would have been a bonus.
The controls for HVAC, media, sound is very user friendly. The winter floor mats are made to measure and a great fit.
Great performance from the engine and gas mileage is averaging 10L/100KMS, not even 500kms on the odometer. Whatever your speed the engine is always quick to light up. The twin turbos perform very well in all situations. Adaptive cruise could be a little more sensitive. Great safety feature though.
Premium sound system is amazing.
Seating is very comfortable and ease of entry and exit is a breeze. Ford Sync was easy to setup and appears flawless. Overall, the vehicle is great!!

On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label lists the wrong maximum weight of occupants and cargo. Specifically, for Bronco and Super Duty models, the cargo capacity (payload) may have been calculated incorrectly. For the Ranger models, the weight of vehicle options may have been entered incorrectly. As a result, the vehicle could be overloaded. Canadian regulations require companies to print the maximum weight of occupants and cargo on the tire and loading information label.
Safety Risk:
Incorrect information about the vehicle's weight capacity could lead to overloading and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will mail a new tire and loading information label to each owner. If you would like help to install it, you can contact a Ford dealer to have it installed free of charge.

On certain trucks, the driver and/or front passenger seat belts may not be properly routed through the anchor eyelets. As a result, the seat belts may not work as designed in a crash.
Note: This recall only affects SuperCab body style trucks.

Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for inspecting the driver and front passenger seat belts before using either seat. Depending on the results, Ford advises that you should take the following steps:
1. If the seat belts pass the inspection, you should schedule an appointment and take your truck to a dealer to inspect and replace the seat belt retractor and pretensioner assemblies, as necessary.
2. If the driver's seat belt does not pass the self-inspection, or you are uncertain of the results of your inspection, you should not drive your truck and contact your dealer to make arrangements to have it towed for an inspection.
3. If the front passenger's seat belt does not pass the self-inspection, do not use that seat unit the seat belt has been inspected by a dealer.

If the protective convolute on the fuel line is not assembled in the proper position, the fuel line may contact the edge of the shield. Over time this contact may chafe the fuel line, resulting in a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. On certain vehicles, the right rear parking brake cable may disconnect from the parking brake actuating lever when the parking brake pedal is released and the parking brake shoes are frozen to the drum. The cable may lift off the lever as it moves when the parking brake is released, if the brakes are sufficiently frozen so that the lever does not move. Should the right rear parking brake cable becomes disconnected, the parking brake pedal will exhibit extended travel and may not be able to fully apply the parking brake in subsequent use. If the vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission, and is parked in neutral without a fully applied parking brake, the vehicle may move unintentionally and cause property damage or personal injury to bystanders. Correction: Dealers will install a revised right side actuator with the lever pivot located at the top of the actuator.

On certain Ranger 4x2 pickup trucks, the front spindle may have been manufactured without proper heat treating. As a result the spindle may, over time, fatigue to fracture without warning, which could allow the front spindle and wheel to separate from the vehicle. As soon as replacement parts are available, owners will be instructed to return to the dealers for installation of a fused wiring harness designed to eliminate the potential risk of fire.

On certain Ranger Electric vehicles, the bolts that attach the transaxle to the vehicle may loosen and the driver may notice a jerking motion and/or a clunking sound. If the vehicle is not serviced promptly. all nine bolts may ultimately fall out or fracture. If this occurs, the transaxle may fall down from its intended location and cause the transaxle to be in a different gear than indicated. If the shifter is in park, the vehicle may still be free to roll as if in neutral. Correction: Transaxle bolts will be replaced with longer bolts equipped with a thread lock material. New bolts will also have a higher installation torque.
