All-new model
An all-new model for 2009, the Ford Flex is the company's new full-size crossover vehicle. It is the production vehicle based on the Ford Fairlane concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2005.
Available in SEL or Limited trim, the Flex uses a 3.5-litre Duratec V6 engine with six-speed automatic transmission. Both models base with front-wheel drive, but both can be optioned to all-wheel drive. Both models also feature three rows of seats.
Features on the SEL include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, auxiliary rear climate control, Easy Fuel capless filler system, tire pressure monitoring system, six-CD/MP3 stereo with Sirius satellite radio and audio input, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power locks with keyless entry, floor mats, front-row centre console, outside temperature and compass display, power windows, heated front seats with ten-way driver and six-way passenger power adjustment, fold-flat passenger seat, 40/40 second-row reclining seats with one-touch power release, 50/50 fold-into-floor split-bench cloth seat, leather-wrapped wheel with audio controls, cruise control, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, heated mirrors, privacy glass, reverse sending system, SecuriCode next-generation keypad, speed-sensitive intermittent wipers, and two-speed rear wiper.
The Limited adds 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, perforated leather-trimmed seats, heated second-row seats, third-row vinyl seat, premium six-CD/MP3 stereo with Sirius satellite radio and audio input, Ford SYNC voice-activated system, leather and wood steering wheel, puddle lamps, LED taillights, power-adjustable pedals, power liftgate, and driver's side memory.
Available options include a Class III trailer tow package, all-weather floor mats, navigation system, DVD entertainment system, multi-panel Vista Roof, roof rack side rails, and a second-row floor console with refrigerator.
