The Ford Explorer is largely unchanged for 2010, except for a new, all-wheel drive Sport Package available on the XLT model.
The Explorer uses a 4.0-litre V6, mated to a five-speed automatic, in the XLT and Eddie Bauer trim lines, and a 4.6-litre V8 with six-speed automatic in the Limited. The XLT comes in 4x4 or AWD, the Eddie Bauer in 4x4, and the Limited in AWD. The XLT and Eddie Bauer have two rows of seats and can be optioned with a third row; the Limited is three-row only.
Features on the XLT include 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, Class II trailer tow hitch receiver with four-pin connector, one-touch integrated start, four-bar chrome grille, keyless entry with SecuiCode touchpad, tire pressure monitoring system, cloth seats, six-way power driver's seat, 60/40 split-folding and reclining second-row bench seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, Sirius satellite radio, cargo management system, cruise control, illuminated glovebox, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, auto-down driver's window, illuminated vanity mirrors, fog lamps, liftgate with flip-open window, heated mirrors with puddle lamps, privacy glass, black step bars, speed-sensitive front and rear wipers, black roof rails with crossbars, outside temperature display, compass, and floor mats.
The XLT Sport adds 20-inch alloy wheels, black wheel lips and fascia accents, black-accented step bars, body-coloured mirror caps, non-heated mirrors, black three-bar grille, blackout headlamp treatment, unique exhaust tip, Charcoal Black interior, white instrument cluster, Circle Check interior accents and all-weather floor mats.
The Eddie Bauer builds on the XLT and adds 18-inch chrome-clad alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, Pueblo Gold lower bumpers, wheel lip mouldings and step bar accents, three-bar chrome grille, heated leather seats with ten-way driver and six-way power adjustment, power-adjustable pedals, driver's side memory, woodgrain interior accents, premium six-CD/MP3 stereo with subwoofer, SYNC, reverse sensing system and garage door opener.
The Limited adds 20-inch alloy wheels, monochromatic appearance, four-bar chrome grille, chrome-accented mirrors with puddle lamps, chrome roof side rails with black crossbars, chrome step bar accents, PowerFold third-row seat, unique woodgrain accents, auxiliary rear climate control, and power sunroof.
