NEW FOR 2012: - Limited adds available Canadian Touring Package - XLT adds available Canadian Comfort Package - New Parking Technology Package For 2012, the Ford Escape adds new option packages. The Canadian Touring Package, available on the Limited, adds 17-inch chrome-clad wheels and a voice-activated navigation system. The Canadian Comfort Package, available on the XLT, adds a power sunroof, mini overhead console, heated leather-trimmed seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and vinyl door trim panel inserts. A new Parking Technology Package adds Active Park Assist and a rearview camera. The Escape comes with a choice of 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine or 3.0-litre V6 engine. The 2.5-litre comes with a five-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic on front-wheel drive models, and the six-speed automatic on all-wheel drive models. The V6 uses the six-speed automatic exclusively. The Escape Hybrid uses a 2.5-litre Atkinson-cycle engine with electric motor, nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) battery and electronically-controlled CVT. Trim levels are the 2.5L XLT FWD with manual or automatic transmission; the 2.5L XLT AWD; 3.0L XLT in FWD or AWD; the 2.5L Limited AWD; 3.0L Limited AWD; and Hybrid FWD, Hybrid AWD and Hybrid Limited AWD. Features on the XLT models include 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, keyless entry, SecuriCode keypad, tire pressure monitoring system, cloth seats, six-way power driver’s seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, Sirius satellite radio, cruise control, floor console, floor mats, auto-down driver’s window, tilt steering wheel, vanity mirrors, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, liftgate with flip-up glass, privacy glass, black roof rack side rails, heated blind spot mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, and two-speed rear washer/wiper. The Hybrid builds on the XLT and adds dual-zone automatic climate control, body-colour upper and lower grilles, 110-volt power outlet, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, and illuminated vanity mirrors. The Limited models build on the XLT and adds dual-zone automatic climate control, chrome upper and lower grilles, chrome roof rack side rails, body-colour door handles and mirrors, power sunroof, reverse sensing system, premium CD/MP3 stereo, SYNC, MyKey, heated leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, ebony black-trimmed centre stack, auto-dimming rearview mirror, illuminated vanity mirrors, ambient lighting, garage door opener, and cargo cover.
