History/Overview
The Ford Edge is the brand’s offering in the mid-size crossover segment, where it competes for family driver dollars against some of the industry’s best-known and most popular crossover nameplates. Though it debuted in 2007, the current Edge is only the model’s second generation, which debuted in 2015.

Available Trims
Ford offers the Edge in SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium, and ST trim levels. Most are powered by a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. ST gets a 2.7L turbo V6 and AWD. Note that ST-Line is an appearance package that makes it look like the sportier ST, but does not offer any performance advantage over SE, SEL, and Titanium models.
Standard Features
Edge SE comes with dual-zone A/C, passive keyless entry, a 12.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, six-speaker audio, 18-inch alloy wheels, and auto on/off LED headlights and taillights.
The Edge’s standard safety kit comprises blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping system, forward collision mitigation, Co-Pilot 360, and rear parking sensors.
SEL adds an auto-dimming mirror, power tailgate, power-adjustable/heated front seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, heated side mirrors, and LED signature lighting.
ST-Line gets wireless phone charging, Active-X upholstery, 20-inch wheels, universal garage door opener, and fog lights.
Titanium gains a hands-free tailgate, leather upholstery, 19-inch wheels, ambient lighting, and rain-sensing wipers.
Finally, ST brings 20-inch wheels, and a sport-tuned suspension.
Key Options
SEL’s cold-weather package adds a heated steering wheel, and winter floor liners.
A convenience package brings a 120-volt power outlet, garage door remote, hands-free tailgate, and wireless phone charging.
Titanium trim can add a 301A package including navigation, ventilated front seats, panoramic roof, and heated rear seats. The Titanium Elite package brings body-colour bumper trim, polished wheels, and Brunello/ebony upholstery with red stitching.
A Canadian touring package adds a panoramic roof, and navigation. You can also add the panoramic roof as a standalone option.
ST’s 401A group adds navigation, heated rear seats, active park assists, and 180-degree cameras.
The new adventure package brings gray wheels and front bumper, Active-X seating, and black exterior trim.
The Co-Pilot 360 bundle adds adaptive cruise, evasive steering assist, lane centering, and navigation.
Fuel Economy
Ford’s fuel consumption estimates for the Edge are 11.5/8.4 L/100 km (city/highway) with the 2.0L engine, and 12.6/9.3 L/100 km with the ST’s 2.7L V6.
Competition
The Ford Edge’s competition includes the Hyundai Santa Fe, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Honda Passport, Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, Nissan Murano, Kia Sorento, and the Chevrolet Blazer.
