History/Overview
Introduced in 2016, the Fiat 500X appeals to subcompact crossover shoppers who appreciate the brand’s stylish approach to mainstream vehicle segments. This is Fiat’s only vehicle for the Canadian market this year.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The 2023 Fiat 500X is unchanged.
Available Trims
Fiat offers its subcompact crossover in Pop and Sport trims. Both come standard with a 1.3L turbo four-cylinder engine, a nine-speed transmission, and AWD.
Standard Features
Pop trim comes with LED headlights with automatic high beams, LED taillights, heated side mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers with de-icer, passive keyless entry, and forward collision mitigation. Inside, there’s manual A/C, an auto-dimming mirror, heated front seats, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio.
Sport adds auto on/off headlights, cornering fog lights, 18-inch wheels, dual-zone A/C, a colour driver info display, ambient lighting, a power driver’s seat, and front and rear parking sensors.
Key Options
The 500X’s only notable option is a retractable soft roof – effectively a fabric sunroof – that turns this crossover into a sort-of convertible.
Fuel Economy
Fiat’s fuel consumption estimates are 10.0/7.9 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
Fiat’s sole remaining model competes in one of Canada’s most popular vehicle segments, where it faces off against the Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, Subaru Crosstrek, Hyundai Kona, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Jeep Renegade, Nissan Qashqai, Mazda CX-30, and the Mini Countryman.
