NEW FOR 2015:
-New optional automatic transmission
As the largely unloved Fiat 500L prepares to be overshadowed by the upcoming 500X crossover, new stuff for 2015 is limited to an optional six-speed automatic transmission, a traditional torque converter-based auto that joins the still-available dual-clutch automatic on the 500L's spec sheet. The engine, a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque remains the 500L's sole source of motivation.
Trims are Pop, Sport, Trekking and Lounge. A six-speed manual is standard across the board; the new auto is the option in Sport, Trekking and Lounge models, while the clunky dual-clutch gearbox remains the ?upgrade? in Pop trim.
Pop models come with air conditioning, body-colour instrument panel, cloth seats with driver and front passenger height adjustment, electronic vehicle information centre, fold-flat front passenger seat, floor mats, front reading lights, interior observation mirror, Bluetooth with streaming audio function, multi-position parcel shelf, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with tilt/tumble/slide functions, passenger assist handles, power locks and power windows with one-touch up/down, six-speaker stereo, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, sun visors with vanity mirror, tilt-and-telescopic steering, Uconnect 5.0 multimedia centre, USB and auxiliary inputs, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, projector headlights, heated side mirrors with black housings, body-colour fascia, bodyside mouldings and roof, bright door handles and exhaust tip, rear window defroster, driver's knee blocker airbag, wide-angle side mirrors, keyless entry, engine block heater, and tire pressure monitoring.
Sport trim adds 16-inch aluminum wheels, 115-volt power outlet, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, body-colour side mirrors, chrome and leather-trimmed shifter, fog lights, front centre console, leather-trimmed steering wheel, heated front seats, power four-way driver lumbar adjustment, sport cloth seats, satellite radio, illuminated vanity mirrors, garage door opener, and vinyl-wrapped instrument panel.
Trekking models bring 17-inch aluminum wheels, chrome bodyside moulding, premium cloth seats, sill and wheel arch moulding, and unique front and rear fascia.
Finally Lounge trim includes a chrome bodyside moulding insert, chrome side mirrors, leather-faced seats, rear park assist and backup camera, driver and front passenger power lumbar adjustment, premium vinyl-wrapped instrument panel, and a rear seat armrest with cupholder.
