Now in its third year in North America, the Fiat 500 returns with a few minor updates. This little car is a charmer, with adorable styling and two engines available to buyers not brave enough for the hot Abarth version. Both motors displace 1.4L, with the more powerful of the two being turbocharged to 135 hp.
In entry-level Pop trim, the 500 comes with cloth seats, driver and front passenger seats with memory, manual driver's seat height adjustment, 50/50 split folding rear seat, six-speaker stereo, auxiliary input jack and 12-volt power outlet, tilt steering, trip computer, power windows with one-touch-down, power locks, body-colour dash trim, sun visors with vanity mirror, 15-inch steel with covers, body-colour fascia and powered heated mirrors, projector headlights, chrome exhaust tip and door handles, driver's knee airbag, keyless entry, hill start assist, four-wheel disc ABS brakes, tire pressure monitor display, block heater, wide-angle driver's side mirror and a tire service kit.
Sport trim brings sport cloth seats, 16-inch aluminum wheels, red brake calipers, Bluetooth, leather steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, chrome shift knob, unique front and rear fascia, rear spoiler, air conditioning, fog lights, cruise control, side sill ground effects, overhead passenger assist handle, sport suspension and a security alarm.
In Lounge trim, the 500 adds heated (front) leather seats, 15-inch aluminum wheels, panoramic sunroof, bright exterior trim and mirror housings, automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror and an upgraded stereo with satellite radio.
The 500 Turbo builds on the Sport model and adds the turbocharged engine, 3.35 final drive ratio, 16-inch wheels with black painted pockets, performance-designed front fascia, bolder side skirts, sport-tuned exhaust, sport seating with silver stitching, leather steering wheel and shifter with silver stitching, black headlight and taillight bezels, sport suspension and upgraded brakes.
