A little nostalgia goes a long way in a sports car, which is what Fiat is going for with the 124 Spider. This is a modern roadster that recalls a car first sold in the 1960s. A joint venture with Mazda means the 124 Spider has a Fiat body and engine, but a chassis shared with the celebrated MX-5, a car inspired by classic roadsters like the original 124. On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French.

A problem with the automatic transmission could cause it to downshift suddenly. This may cause the rear wheels to slow abruptly and create a loss of vehicle stability.
