An all-new model for 2009, the Dodge Journey refines its trim lines for 2010. The SE trim line has been expanded with the base SE Canada Value Package, which has the same starting price as the 2009 SE, and the new SE Plus. The SXT and R/T add additional standard features. While all-wheel drive was an option on the top two trim lines for 2009, SXT is now front-wheel drive only, while the R/T is strictly all-wheel drive.
Numerous changes have been made to the various option packages. Floor mats are now a stand-alone option on Canada Value and are removed from the SE Plus Group; six premium speakers with subwoofer are not available on Canada Value, and are now part of the Premium Convenience Group on SXT; Rear Seat Video group is not available for Canada Value or SXT; UConnect and Sirius satellite radio is now packaged with the SE Plus Group; adjustable roof rail crossbars are moved from the SE Plus Group to the Exterior Appearance Group; and a premium instrument cluster with display and vehicle information is now available on SXT as part of the Premium Convenience Group. As well, SXT is no longer available with the Exterior Appearance or Chrome Appearance Group packages; and 19-inch cast aluminum or chrome-clad aluminum wheels are available as stand-alone options on SXT.
The Journey is available with a choice of two engines: a 2.4-litre four-cylinder in the SE Canada Value and SE, and a 3.5-litre V6 in the SXT and R/T models. The 2.4-litre uses a four-cylinder automatic transmission, while the 3.5-litre uses a six-speed automatic with manual shift mode. The SE and SXT models are front-wheel drive; the R/T is all-wheel drive.
All models feature seating for five, but all can be optioned with a Flexible Seating Group package which adds a third row for seven-passenger seating.
Features on the Canada Value Package include 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, black heated mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, rear washer/wiper, front active head restraints, illuminated cupholders, keyless entry, Chill Zone cooled upper glovebox, illuminated entry, Stain Repel cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding second-row seat, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input and voice command, second-row in-floor storage bins, and tilt and telescopic soft-touch steering wheel.
The SE Plus adds overhead console, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, roof rack with crossbars, security alarm, sunscreen glass, illuminated vanity mirrors, front and rear floor mats, passenger assist handles, conversation mirror, cruise control, Sirius satellite radio, and cargo cover.
The SXT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, touring suspension, fog lamps, automatic headlamps, body-colour heated mirrors, black roof rails, cargo net, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 115-volt power outlet, six-way power driver's seat, and fold-flat front passenger seat.
The R/T adds 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, performance suspension, bright door handles, bright roof rails, garage door opener, premium cluster with display and vehicle information centre, remote starter, heated leather seats, Sirius satellite radio, Infinity premium speakers, and subwoofer.
