The V6 models can now be optioned with an eight-speed automatic transmission and with all-wheel drive. The SRT8, temporarily discontinued for 2011, returns with a 6.4-litre V8 in place of the previous 6.1-litre V8, and with several upgrades including an adaptive damping system with selectable suspension tuning, an active valve exhaust system for improved highway fuel efficiency, and a premium 900-watt stereo system. A new Blacktop package includes a black grille and surround, black-painted 20-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels with performance tires, performance-tuned suspension, Uconnect Touch 8.4 sound system, and unique performance seats. The R/T Road & Track, SRT8 and models equipped with the Rallye Appearance Group or Blacktop package now include die-cast steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Road & Track package also receives significant upgrades. The Charger comes with a choice of three engines. A 3.6-litre V6 with five-speed automatic is used in the SE, and with an eight-speed automatic in the SXT and SXT Plus. A 5.7-litre Hemi V8 with five-speed automatic is used in the R/T and R/T Road & Track, while the SRT8 392 uses a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with five-speed automatic. All-wheel drive can be optioned on the SXT, SXT Plus and R/T. Features on the SE include 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning with dual-zone temperature control, cloth seats, six-way power driver’s seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, Uconnect Touch Media with CD/MP3 stereo, keyless entry with proximity key, LED taillights, dual exhaust with bright tips, heated mirrors, leather-wrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, cruise control, acoustic windshield and front side glass, and four-wheel disc brakes. The SXT adds 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inch with AWD), fog lamps, heated foldaway mirrors, heated seats, Uconnect hands-free communication with voice commands, Sirius satellite radio, premium speakers, 12-way power driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote starter and garage door opener. The SXT Plus adds Nappa leather-faced seats, 12-way power passenger seat, heated rear seats, driver and passenger front LED lower lights, security alarm, heated and cooled cupholders, and auto-dimming rearview mirror. The R/T adds performance suspension and exhaust, xenon headlamps, rear spoiler, Uconnect Touch 8.4 media centre, and front overhead LED lighting. The R/T Road & Track adds 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated Nappa leather seats with perforated suede inserts, paddle shifters, auto-dimming and tip-down in reverse driver’s exterior mirror, driver’s side memory, power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals, performance brakes, 276-watt amplifier, high-speed engine controller and retro R/T badging. The SRT8 adds 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, functional hood scoop, carbon-fibre aluminum accents, bright pedals, Uconnect Touch 8.4N media centre with navigation and SRT performance pages, heated steering wheel, 900-watt subwoofer, 19 speakers, rearview camera, park assist, two-mode active damping system and active valve exhaust system.
