For 2011, the Chrysler Town & Country undergoes numerous changes, as does its sibling Dodge Grand Caravan. A new 3.6-litre V6 engine replaces the previous 4.0-litre V6 engine and comes with a driver-selectable fuel economizer mode for economy or performance driving.
Exterior changes include a new hood, fascia and grille; rear liftgate and spoiler; projector-style fog lamps; LED taillamps; and new wheels. The new Stow ‘n Place roof rack includes stowable crossbars.
Interior improvements include a new heated steering wheel, premium soft-touch materials, upgraded upholstery and serpentine gated gear shifter. The new Stow ‘n Go seating has a one-touch fold-down feature.
Suspension improvements include retuned front and rear springs and larger-diameter rear shocks. Safety improvements include front seat side airbags, driver’s knee airbag, active front head restraints, back-up camera and available blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection.
The Town & Country uses a 3.6-litre V6 with six-speed automatic transmission. Trim levels are the Touring, Touring-L and Limited.
Features on the Touring include 16-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, second-row Stow ‘n Go seating, power driver’s seat, premium centre console, tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, fuel economizer mode, power sliding doors, power liftgate, power-adjustable pedals, Media Centre 430 radio with 6.5-inch touch screen and 30-GB hard drive, DVD player, Sirius satellite radio, rear rechargeable flashlight, rear overhead storage with ambient LED lighting, electronic vehicle information centre, driver’s knee airbag, back-up camera, fog lamps, Stow ‘n Place roof rack, body-colour mirrors, automatic headlamps and deep-tint sunscreen glass.
The Touring adds 17-inch alloy wheels, perforated heated leather seats, eight-way power passenger seat, second- and third-row window shades, remote starter and security alarm.
The Limited adds 17-inch chrome-clad wheels, luxury Nappa leather seats, heated second-row seats, heated steering wheel, Uconnect hands-free phone with voice recognition, xenon headlamps, driver’s side memory, Keyless Enter-n-Go, chrome mirrors with integrated turn signals, bright roof rails and door handles, and SafetyTec package of blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, SmartBeam headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear park assist.
