History/Overview
Introduced in 2017, the Chrysler Pacifica is the most luxurious minivan in today’s auto industry. The Pacifica received a significant update last year that brought refreshed styling and new upscale features.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2022, Chrysler has added Amazon Fire TV to the Pacifica’s infotainment system. Entry-level Touring trim now comes standard with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, power sliding doors, a power tailgate, and an air filtration system. Other trims get new features, too, which we’ve detailed below.
Available Trims
Chrysler offers the Pacifica in Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle trims. All are powered by a 3.6L V6 engine and a nine-speed transmission; AWD is optional in all trims. There’s also a Pacific Hybrid with plug-in technology, which is covered in a separate buyer’s guide entry.
Standard Features
Pacifica Touring’s new-for-2022 standard features are heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, power sliding doors/tailgate, and an air filtration system. Touring also comes with passive keyless entry, 17-inch wheels, auto on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, and heated side mirrors. Inside, there’s a 10.1-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio, 7.0-inch gauge display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power driver’s seat, stow-and-go second-row seats, and three-zone A/C.
Driver safety assists include automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist.
New for 2022, Touring L has front park assist, park assist, and a 360-degree camera. Also included is leather upholstery.
Limited brings auto-dimming side mirrors, navigation, 18-inch wheels, integrated vacuum cleaner, Nappa leather, a power front-passenger seat, a dual-pane sunroof, heated second-row seats, 18-speaker audio, power-folding third-row seats, ventilated front seats, and hands-free tailgate and sliding doors.
Finally, Pinnacle gains a trailer tow group (new for 2022), along with 20-inch wheels, a suede headliner, and a programmable key fob.
Key Options
Touring L trim offers navigation, and a dual-pane sunroof as stand-alone options. Limited models can add a rear-seat entertainment system.
Fuel Economy
Chrysler’s fuel consumption estimates for the Pacifica are 12.4/8.4 L/100 km (city/highway) with front-wheel drive, and 14.1/9.4 L/100 km when optioned with AWD.
Competition
With the Pacifica, Chrysler fights for a piece of the minivan pie with the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, and Kia Carnival. Chrysler also sells the Grand Caravan, which is the same mechanically as the Pacifica, but is less expensive.
