For 2008, the Chrysler Crossfire continues in coupe and convertible configuration, but the base coupe has been discontinued; both models are now available only in Limited trim.
Based on the first generation Mercedes SLK, the Crossfire uses a 3.2-litre V6 with six-speed manual, which can be optioned to a five-speed automatic with Auto/Stick manual mode.
Features on both models include 18-inch front and 19-inch rear aluminum wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual chrome exhaust tips, tinted glass, garage door opener, fog lamps, power locks, heated mirrors, CD stereo, heated eight-way driver and four-way passenger power leather seats, security alarm, engine immobilizer, cruise control, speed-activated electric rear spoiler, tilt and telescopic column, leather-wrapped wheel, tire pressure monitoring display, and speed-sensitive variable intermittent wipers. The centre console comes with a lock on the roadster.
Available options are a GPS navigation system, premium two-tone interior, and low-profile performance tires.
The Crossfire has always been a low-production vehicle and it's nearing the end of its product cycle; it's beautifully styled, but it's a tight fit inside, and the coupe's fastback styling makes rearward visibility difficult. The first car to be built as a result of the merger of Daimler and Chrysler, it probably won't survive the divorce of those companies, so get yours while they last.
