Chrysler's self-proclaimed "big and bold" 300 sedan returns for 2016 with a number of minor changes.
A 90th Anniversary edition adds Nappa leather seats, Uconnect 8.4, navigation, and a dual-pane sunroof to Touring trim; V8-powered 300S models can be had with a performance-tuned suspension that brings firmer springs, unique bushings, and thicker sway bars; and Touring models now get a touring-tuned suspension as standard.
The rest of the story is familiar: standard power comes from a 3.6L V6 that makes 292 hp/260 lb-ft of torque in standard tune, and 300 hp/264 lb-ft in the 300S, while the option is a 5.7L Hemi V8 good for 363 hp/394 lb-ft. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission; AWD is optional with the V6 motor.
Natural Resources Canada fuel consumption ratings are 12.4/7.7 L/100 km (city/highway) with the V6 and RWD; 12.8/8.6 with V6/AWD; and 14.8/9.3 with V8 and RWD.
Trim levels are Touring, S, C, and Platinum, all of which can be had with either engine.
Key standard features in Touring trim ($38,495 with RWD; $40,695 with AWD) include a leather-trimmed steering wheel, seven-inch customizable in-cluster display, Uconnect infotainment system with 8.4-inch touchscreen, six-speaker stereo, 12-way power driver's seat with lumbar, electric power steering, tilt-and-telescopic steering column, auto-dimming rearview mirror, acoustic windshield and front door glass, 17-inch aluminum wheels, intelligent keyless entry, and Touring suspension.
300S ($41,195 with RWD; $43,395 with AWD) adds Nappa leather seats, 20-inch wheels, heated front seats, uprated V6 engine, BeatsAudio sound system, LED fog and taillights, backup camera, remote start, and a power-adjustable front passenger seat.
300C ($42,195 with RWD; $44,395 with AWD) trim scales the whees back to 18s, but adds ventilated front seats, auto-dimming driver's side mirror, driver's seat memory, auto-adjust-in-reverse side mirrors, power-adjustable steering column, and "comfort" suspension.
Finally, the Platinum trim ($44,195 with RWD,; $46,395 with AWD) goes back to 20-inch wheels, and adds adaptive bi-xenon headlights with automatic levelling, dual-pane sunroof, 19-speaker stereo, heated/cooled front cupholders, sport mode with transmission paddle shifters, and Touring suspension tuning.
