Having been redesigned for 2015, the Chevrolet Tahoe undergoes minor trim changes for 2016, including an "enhanced driver alert" package available on LS trim, which bundles power-adjustable pedals, forward collision alert, safety alert seat, lane keep assist, and automatic high beams.
Another new tech item is a head-up display that comes with the optional enhanced driver information centre available in the top-trim LTZ model.
The rest of this big SUV package is carried over, including a 5.3L V8 that makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and comes coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Tahoe starts as a rear-driver, and can be optioned with a choice of four-wheel drive systems, one with a single-speed transfer case, and the other a two-speed with low-range gearing.
Fuel consumption estimates are 15.1/10.4 L/100 km (city/highway) with rear-wheel drive, and 15.2/10.8 in 4WD models.
Standard equipment in the base LS model includes side steps, capless fuel filler, rear park assist, backup camera, 18-inch wheels, locking rear differential, cruise control, three-zone automatic climate control, driver information centre, tilt steering, cloth seats with 10-way driver and six-way front passenger adjustment, eight-passenger seating, six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, and satellite radio.
Features available in LT and LTZ trims include Bose sound systems, wireless smartphone charging, leather seats, heated or heated and ventilated front seats and second-row bucket seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, power liftgate, HID headlights, power-adjustable pedals, magnetic ride control suspension, and intelligent keyless entry.
Prices range from $53,315 to $71,985.
