NEW FOR 2012: - TBA The full-size Tahoe uses a 5.3-litre V8 engine with six-speed automatic transmission, while the Tahoe Hybrid uses a 6.0-litre V8 and hybrid electric propulsion unit, along with a four-speed automatic transmission. All engines use Active Fuel Management which shuts off half the cylinders under light load for improved fuel economy. The Hybrid can launch and travel at speeds of up to 49 km/h on electricity alone, and recharges its battery through regenerative braking. Trim levels on the Tahoe are LS, LT and LTZ, while the Hybrid comes in LT trim. The Tahoe LS, LT and Hybrid come in two- or four-wheel drive, while the Tahoe LTZ is four-wheel drive only. All have three rows of seats. The LT adds tri-zone automatic climate control, body-colour door handles, rear parking assist, power-adjustable pedals, fog lights, body-colour mirrors, roof rack crossbars, centre console, simulated woodgrain interior accents, garage door opener, six-way power driver and passenger heated leather bucket seats, Bose premium nine-speaker audio system, and rear-seat audio controls. The Hybrid LT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, Hybrid-specific grille, power-folding mirrors with driver’s side auto-dimming and puddle lamps, rearview camera, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 120-volt power outlet, and navigation system.
