History/Overview
In 2013, the tiny Chevrolet Spark city car rolled into the brand’s showrooms, where it filled a niche below the already-small Sonic. Nearly a decade later, the Spark is still cute and imminently well suited to city driving, but wears a more mature look.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2022, Chevrolet has made some changes to the Spark’s palette of paint colours, with the selection still tending toward bright, cheerful hues.
Available Trims
Chevrolet offers the Spark in LS, 1LT, and 2LT trim levels. Powering all of them is a 1.4L four-cylinder engine. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, and the option is a continuously variable automatic.
Standard Features
LS trim comes with 15-inch steel wheels with covers, four-speaker audio, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen. Optioning an LS with the CVT also adds air conditioning.
1LT brings alloy wheels, heated/power side mirrors, LED daytime running lights, a six-speaker stereo, cruise control, keyless entry, power windows, and steering wheel-mounted audio/cruise controls.
Among 2LT’s additions are forward collision avoidance assist, lane departure warning, sunroof, chrome exterior trim, a configurable driver info display, heated front seats, front reading lights, passive keyless entry, rear park assist, leather-trimmed steering wheel, and leatherette upholstery.
Fuel Economy
Chevy’s fuel consumption estimates for the Spark are 8.0/6.2 L/100 km (city/highway) with the manual transmission, and 7.7/6.2 with the CVT.
Competition
With the Spark, Chevy competes against the Mitsubishi Mirage, Kia Rio, and Nissan Versa.
