History
The Chevrolet Spark is one of the last of a dying breed. The subcompact hatchback at an extremely entry-level price for buyers who see the value in small and new over bigger and used. The appeal here is a new car that starts under five figures, even if just barely, but still offer some important tech features larger and more expensive competitors don't.
New Changes to 2021 Chevrolet Spark
Refreshed and revised for 2019, the Spark moves into 2021 with no significant changes, just a shuffling of available colours.
Available Trims
The 2021 Chevrolet Spark is offered in LS and 1LT trims, divided into Manual and CVT, as well as the CVT-only 2LT trim. The difference between Manual and CVT is the five-speed stick or continuously variable automatic.
Standard Features
The LS Manual gives you a car and that's largely it. It has a rear camera and tilt steering, crank windows, an armrest, and 15-inch steel wheels with covers. It does, though, have a 7.0-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as GM's OnStar connected services, and it has intermittent variable front wipers. LS CVT adds air conditioning
LT adds AC to the manual and both versions get power windows, power locks, and 15-inch alloys. Cruise control and remote keyless entry are added and the audio system gets a few extra speakers. The mirrors are also power adjust. 2LT adds faux-leather seats and a power sunroof as well as a leather-wrapped wheel. Added active safety features include forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. The front seats are heated on this one as well.
Key Options
Aside from accessory options, the only real choices here are paint shades.
Fuel Economy
Chevrolet Sparks with the manual box are estimated to hit 8.0 L/100 km in the city and 6.2 on the highway. With the CVT, that changes to 7.7/6.2.
Competitors
The main competitor remaining for the Spark is the Mitsubishi Mirage, but step up slightly in price and size and you'll find the Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent waiting with more big car features and feel.
