History/Overview
The current generation of the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 – the entry point to the model’s heavy-duty lineup – was launched two years ago, continuing Chevrolet’s century-long story of truck manufacturing.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
This year’s only change is wider availability of the Silverado 2500’s multi-function tailgate, which is now optional across the lineup.
Available Trims
Chevrolet Silverado 2500 trim levels are WT, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. You get a choice of two- or four-wheel drive on most trims, with 4x4 being standard on High Country, and there are regular cab, Double Cab and Crew Cab body styles. A 6.6L gas V8 ft is standard with a six-speed automatic transmission; your option is a 6.6L turbodiesel with a 10-speed auto.
Standard Features
WT includes a trailer hitch and wiring harness, a locking rear differential, 17-inch painted steel wheels, rear bed steps, manual-extend trailer mirrors, a locking tailgate, and cargo area lighting. Inside, there are vinyl front seats, and a 7.0-inch infotainment display with smartphone connectivity. Power windows and locks are included, too.
Custom brings body-colour trim, 20-inch wheels, LED taillamps, and carpeted flooring instead of vinyl.
LT models gain chrome bumpers, a trailer brake controller, tailgate lift assist, cloth seats, LED headlamps, an 8.0-inch touchscreen screen, and remote keyless entry.
LTZ trim adds keyless entry and start, power-extending-and-folding mirrors, leather seating, 18-inch alloys, puddle lamps, and additional hitch lighting. Inside, there are heated front seats with 10-way driver power adjustment, and a heated/telescoping steering wheel.
High Country brings 20-inch wheels, a power tailgate, navigation, assist steps, and Bose audio. You also get rear cross-traffic/lane change/blind spot alerts, and front and rear park assist, ventilated front seats with passenger power adjustments and wireless phone charging.
Key Options
A WT convenience pack adds keyless entry, rear defrost, and, in regular cab models, power windows and locks. A WT safety pack brings front and rear park assist, and cross traffic/lane change/blind zone alerts. The safety confidence package adds cruise and forward collision mitigation. A custom value group adds remote start, rear defrost and a power locking tailgate; a custom safety confidence package bundles forward collision mitigation and steering wheel controls.
LT True North gets a power driver’s seat, passive keyless entry, under-seat storage, a heated steering wheel, and park assist/lane change/rear cross traffic alert. Z71 Sport gets skid plates and additional driver aids. LTZ Premium gains a camera-based rearview mirror, sliding rear glass, navigation, and a full suite of driver safety assists.
High Country Deluxe gains the rear camera mirror, automatic high beams, and all of the available driver assistance features, while a tech pack adds a head-up display.
