The Camaro is one of Chevrolet's longest-running nameplates, and it's attached to one of its most desirable cars. Offered as a coupe and convertible, the Chevrolet Camaro is well-known as a sports car. Entry-level models are affordable and fuel-efficient without giving up good looks, but Camaro lives up to its reputation with available V8 power and a chassis that can be tuned to keep up with some of the world's best racetrack stars.

Overall Score
I've had the car for four months now and could not be happier. It sounds amazing and drives even better. The magnetorheological suspension is great! Tour makes the car comfortable and track makes the car a beast.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the driver-front airbag inflator could rupture when the airbag deploys in a crash. If this happens, the airbag may not properly inflate and fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants.
Safety Risk:
An airbag inflator that ruptures can create a risk of injury or death.
Corrective Actions:
General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver-front airbag module.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the electric power steering assist motor to the steering gear may corrode and break. This could cause a loss of power steering assist.
Safety Risk:
A loss of power steering assist may result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low vehicle speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the bolts that attach the electric power steering motor and apply a protective wax coating. If the bolts cannot be removed due to corrosion, the steering gear will be replaced.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the high-pressure fuel pump could be missing a part that helps control the pressure. As a result, the pump can crack. If this happens, there could be a fuel leak in the engine compartment.
Safety Risk:
A fuel leak in the engine compartment could result in a fire.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the high-pressure fuel pump.
Issue:
This recall is for replacement flip key assemblies sold as replacement parts. Please see Transport Canada Recall No. 2014-243 for additional details.
There is a risk that some drivers may bump the ignition key with their knee and unintentionally move the key out of the "run" position. If this happens, engine power, power braking and power steering would be affected. This can cause a sudden increase steering and brake pedal effort. This could also cause the airbags not to deploy in a crash.
Safety Risk:
Airbags that do not deploy properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. An increase brake pedal effort could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Sudden changes in steering effort could also increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the key(s). If a flip key is found, it will be replaced with a flat blade key as in Transport Canada Recall No. 2014-243.
Issue:
A problem with the power steering system could cause it to turn off while driving. The power steering assist may return when the vehicle is restarted.
Safety Risk:
A loss of power steering assist would result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low vehicle speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the power steering gear assembly replaced.
On certain vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador), the bolts that attach the electric power steering assist motor to the steering gear housing may corrode and break. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. The resulting increase in steering effort could create the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the mounting bolts and apply a corrosion protection coating to the gear housing and bolts. If the bolts bolt cannot be removed, a replacement steering gear will be installed.
On certain vehicles, front seat-mounted side impact airbag modules may contain a defect which, in the event of an airbag deployment, can cause airbag inflator components to separate and be propelled into the interior compartment, possibly striking occupants. It is also possible that the airbag may inflate only partially, or not at all, in the event of a crash. If the airbag components separate and are propelled into the interior compartment during deployment in a crash, or the airbag does not inflate, there may be an increased risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will replace affected side airbag modules.
On certain vehicles equipped with power height adjustable front seats, a bolt securing the adjuster mechanism may loosen and fall out. This would cause the seat to drop to the lowest vertical adjustment position, which could affect the driver's ability to safety operate vehicle controls as well as cause reduced driver visibility. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the bolt.
On certain vehicles, the primary stage of the driver’s airbag may not deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted). Failure of an airbag to deploy correctly could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering wheel airbag coil. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2012368.
On certain vehicles, there is a risk that some drivers may bump the ignition key with their knee and unintentionally move the key from out of the "run" position. If this were to occur, engine power, power braking and power steering would be affected, which would unexpectedly increase steering and brake pedal effort, potentially increasing stopping distances and the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. The timing of the key movement out of the "run" position, relative to the activation of the sensing algorithm of the crash event, may also result in the airbags not deploying in a subsequent collision, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers are to remove the key blade from the original flip key/transmitter assemblies provided with the vehicle, and provide two new keys and two key rings for every original key. Important note: Until the correction is performed, drivers should adjust their seat and steering column to allow clearance between their knee and the ignition key.
On certain vehicles, the primary or secondary stage of the driver’s airbag may not deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted). Failure of an airbag to deploy correctly could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering wheel airbag coil. Note: This recall is superseded by recall 2014306.
Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts. The airbag warning labels may not be permanently affixed to sun visors. Correction: Owners will be sent instructions on how to inspect labels, or may have the inspection performed at a dealer. Where labels are found to be defective, the sun visors will be replaced.
On certain vehicles, the primary stage of the driver’s airbag may not deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted). Failure of an airbag to deploy correctly could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering wheel airbag coil.
On certain vehicles equipped with a V8 engine, the positive battery cable may contact the starter motor housing, which could cause chafe damage to the cable insulation. If the insulation wears through to the cable it could create an electrical short, which can result in a no start condition, cause the engine to stall without the ability to restart, or cause an engine compartment fire. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will reroute the positive battery cable to ensure adequate clearance.
Certain vehicles fail to conform to C.M.V.S.S. 208, "occupant crash protection" and C.M.V.S.S. 214 "side door strength". The weld strength on the drivers door hinge pillar does not meet specification which could result in occupant injury in a crash. Correction: Dealers will install three rivets.
