For 2010, the Chevrolet Aveo increases its horsepower to 108 from 106, and seat side airbags that were optional for 2009 are now standard equipment. Vehicles equipped with a manual transmission also include a shift indicator light to help coach the driver.
The Aveo is sold as a sedan or hatchback, in LS or LT trim. Built in Korea by a GM subsidiary, it also appears in hatchback form as the Suzuki Swift+, and was sold as the Pontiac G3 (previously known in Canada as the Wave).
All Aveo models use a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, with five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission.
Features on the LS include 14-inch steel wheels, disc and drum brakes, block heater, manual remote mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, seat side impact airbags, floor mats, tilt wheel, manual driver's seat height adjustment, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, and CD/MP3 stereo. The LS hatchback adds fog lights and a rear washer/wiper, and its rear seat flips and folds.
The LT adds air conditioning, power locks with keyless entry, OnStar, fog lights, heated power mirrors, metallic or woodgrain interior accents, cruise control, and power windows.
Available options include anti-lock brakes, power sunroof, 15-inch alloy wheels and spoiler.
