History/Overview
Since 2019, the subcompact Cadillac XT4 has served as the brand’s entry-level crossover model, a relatively new segment in the luxury marketplace that manufacturers use to attract younger shoppers with upscale aspirations. In fact, the XT4 is Cadillac’s least-expensive model overall.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
There are no notable changes to the XT4 for the 2023 model year.
Available Trims
The Cadillac XT4 starts out in Luxury trim. From there, you can choose either Premium Luxury or Sport, both of which build off the base package and carry the same price tag. All XT4 models use a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed transmission. Luxury comes standard with front-wheel drive that you can option to AWD; the all-wheel setup is standard in the two upper trims.
Standard Features
Luxury trim comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights/taillights, passive keyless entry, and a power tailgate. Inside, there are heated front/rear seats and steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, a seven-speaker stereo, dual-zone A/C, and forward collision mitigation.
Premium Luxury and Sport both add auto on/off headlights, power-folding side mirrors with driver’s-side auto dimming, a hands-free tailgate, automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, ambient cabin lighting, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. These packages also add a suite of driver safety assists comprising front and rear park assist, blind spot monitoring, lane change alert, lane keep assist/departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Sport also gets front cornering lights and adjustable front-seat side bolsters, while Premium Luxury adds leather upholstery.
Key Options
A sun and sound package adds a sunroof, navigation, and a 13-speaker stereo. The comfort and convenience pack brings ventilated front seats with massage.
A tech package is where you’ll find a reconfigurable gauge cluster, a head-up display, and a power-adjustable steering wheel.
The enhanced visibility bundle adds a rear pedestrian alert, camera-based rearview mirror, surround-view cameras, and automatic parking assist. You can also add a driver assist pack of adaptive cruise control, enhanced forward collision avoidance, and rear automatic braking.
Wireless phone charging is available as a stand-alone option.
Fuel Economy
Cadillac’s fuel consumption estimates for the XT4 are 10.2/7.8 L/100 km (city/highway) for FWD models, and 10.9/8.2 L/100 km with AWD.
Competition
Among the XT4’s competitors are the Lexus UX, Audi Q3, Land Rover Evoque, BMW X1, Volvo XC40, and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.
