Playing on the popularity of touchscreen smartphones, Cadillac's new CUE (Cadillac User Experience) brings a new level of technological sophistication ? or annoyance, depending on your view ? to the brand's entry-level crossover. Coming with CUE is a revised interior design and new available safety features, like Safety Alert Seat, which uses vibrations in the bottom seat cushion to alert the driver when a safety feature, like lane departure warning, has something to say to the driver. As a luxury crossover, the SRX is a convincing rival to vehicles like the Lexus RX and BMW X3, but with more distinctive styling.
The SRX uses a 3.6-litre V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission, and comes in front- or all-wheel drive. Front drive models come in base and Leather Collection trims while the all-wheel drive models drop the base trim and get additional Luxury, Performance, and Premium Collection trims.
Standard features include front-wheel drive, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain), OnStar, content theft alarm, electronic immobilizer, four wheel disc brakes with ABS, dual exhaust with chrome tips, automatic headlights, LED taillights, body colour power heated mirrors with driver side auto-dimming feature, roof rack with black side rails, 18-inch aluminum wheels, cargo mat, automatic dual-zone climate control, cruise control, driver information centre, TPMS, push button start, automatic power locks, remote keyless entry, steering wheel mounted audio/cruise/OnStar/Bluetooth controls, leather-wrapped steering wheel, tilt/telescopic steering, power windows with auto-up/down front windows and auto-down rear windows, 8-way power driver seat, 4-way manual driver seat, heated front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, 8-speaker Bose AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio, auxiliary input, Bluetooth phone connectivity and wireless audio streaming, Cadillac CUE with motorized flip-up/down 8-inch touch screen, hidden instrument panel storage area, satellite radio, and USB ports.
Leather Collection adds all-wheel drive (optional), rear limited-slip differential (AWD), power folding mirrors, E-Z Key passive entry system, driver seat/mirror/power pedals (if equipped) memory, auto-dimming rear view mirror, universal home remote, 8-way power front passenger seat, and leather seating surfaces.
